Some 25,000 gather on Boston Common to protest. Afterward, some 3,000 demonstrators block the entrances to the John F. Kennedy federal building and more than 100 – including Boston University professor Howard Zinn – are arrested, the largest number of arrests to date at a Boston antiwar demonstration.
